This is Google's third spam update of the year (previous spam updates were in March and June). Google's documentation on spam policies hasn't changed since the last update. This spam update started just one day after the December 2024 core update completed (which followed on the heels of the November 2024 core update). The timing of these three most recent updates might make it difficult for site owners to diagnose ranking fluctuations.
